Google announced the Gemini agent on 8 October 2026 at Gemini at Work. It is described as one agent for questions, knowledge work, content and code, which plans tasks, creates sub-agents and connects to the systems your business already uses.
In Google Workspace, you can describe a role and Gemini creates a coworker agent with its own Workspace account, email, calendar and Drive. Check which Gemini Enterprise or Workspace plan includes it before you plan around it.
